Single Camera & Lens - Travel Photography

I took the Tamron 18-400mm super zoom lens along with the Nikon D500 to Hong Kong for a week to see if I can manage with a single camera and lens kit!

    Matt

I have purchased two of your videos. Somewhere, you asked for feedback. First, your presentation style somehow manages to hold my short attention span. Some photographers are good photographer but their videos are great for curing insomnia.

Now the minor suggestion. A couple of times, you referred to your models as subject. Yes, that is correct. But to me it sounds a little too sterile. Not much of a suggestion but each time, the word didn't sound right.

You've also asked about your audience's favorite gear - another email/comment

Hi Matt, Love your videos! From those of us not nearly as talented...thank you! I have just purchased this lens but have not really taken it out yet except for a quick play with my nieces but I was shocked at the head shot I got. Pretty pleased. Can't wait to get out again and play! Thank you again from a wanna be! Ever come to the states and want to teach me don't be afraid to call!! LOL

Travelling with one lens is itching me for a while.
When I travel I usually rely on my OMD 1 with the 12-40 f2.8. Depending of the topic of my travel, I either add my old SONY NEX 6 with the 55-210 or my Nikon D200 with the 10-24. I add sometimes the Olympus 25 f1.8 if I need low light solution (it is so tiny).
    Great review Matt.

Great video. What tripod was used for the D500 in the video?
We travel with the 16-300 on a Nikon D7000 .. great combination. Sacrifice some low light opportunities, and some sharpness across the range, but big saving on weight and flexibility. A good small, lightweight tripod is next on the list...
