In January I had the chance to meet up with the DigitalRev crew whilst in Hong Kong.

Unfortunately we did not have enough time to do a full Pro Tog Cheap Camera Challenge, so on the day we decided to film a 'How to shoot Nude Portraiture' video instead. But there's always a twist right? The conditions were that I could only use one camera and lens, it would all be in one room (my hotel room!), and I could not use ANY Flash or light modifiers - I had to use just the lights available in the room. Oh - and I only had about an hour to shoot and explain as we went.

It was great fun - I had only met Kai briefly once before, and it was cool to meet Lok and see his tripods free camera work in action.

It was also a great opportunity to reinforce my motto Get Your Gear Out! You don't need 10 lights, a crew and a carefully chosen location to make some lovely images. Here, in a fairly standard hotel room, with 'challenging light', I think we made some pretty sweet images.

If you want to learn how to make beautiful nude portraits (or how to overcome difficult lighting) I have a complete download series that teaches all topics related to nude portraiture - you can check that out here.

Im in shock! Kai behaving himself and keeping out of trouble?? He's usually known for his silly dirty-minded hijinks on DigitalRev.. I liked that show and sad they (Kai, Lok, & Alamby) all have left DigitalRev and gone their separate ways.. sigh..
