Macro lens PLUS extension tubes - how close can we get?

  Love the videos and they have been very helpful for a new beginner like myself who is is trying to get better at taking pics as a hobby. One question I have about macro. Could you comment on reversing rings vs. a macro lens. It seems you can get even closer or larger using this meathod which is great. But I am also wondering if this is potentially damaging for the lens or any other downsides. And what type of lens would be best for this technique. Would love to see one of your comparisons on the subject and your personal opinion. Thanks for all your vids and help.
