SONY 400mm f2.8

Sony have been working to expand their lens line up, and fill the glaring gap in their line up - fast telephoto primes. The first lens to be announced, and now be on show, is the 400mm f2.8.

The new 400mm from Sony is damn impressive. Looking at the images on my editing machine - it is crazy sharp, and the bokeh is as nice or better than the Nikon and Canon. It also has far less vignetting, and is lighter, faster to focus, and the added function buttons are really handy. If only these quirks disapear, this will be an upstoppable combo.

NOTE - I didn't hear anyone elseo speak of these quirks - so either they were silent, or they didn't experience them. It *could be that the a9 I had just had a tiny issue, but Steph used it too (a lot less) but didn't experience it. 99% of shots were perfect, but those few times it wouldn't initiate focus were very frustrating.
