My name is Stefan Klein, i'm a 20 year old student (not photography) from Tübingen, Germany. As
I loved photography for a long time, since two and a half years I have my own DSLR.
First I started with a used Nikon D40x and 18-55 Kitlense. Going then for a nifty 50 (1.4G). For 2
years now I own the Nikon D7000 which you can see on the picture. Some time later my gear
changed and I got more lenses and equipment. As I'm into wedding photography for about 1.5 years
now, I use to take ALL of my equipment with me to have everything I eventually need. I take with
me:
> Nikon D7000 with battery grip
> Tamron 17-50 2.8
> Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRII
> Nikon 50 1.4G
> Sigma 150mm 2.8 Macro
> Samyang 8mm 3.5 Fisheye
> Blackrapid Double Strap
> Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with 496RC2 ball head
> Lowepro 400 AW backpack for the camera, lenses and small stuff
> Nikon SB-26
> Yongnuo YN 560 Manual Flash
> Some Sanyo eneloops
> Yongnuo flash triggers
> Samsonite Trekking Bag for the Flashes, batteries and triggers
> 4x 256cm Lightstand and Cullman Umbrella adaptor with white shoot through umbrellas
> Kalahari Tripod-Bag for Tripod and umbrellas
> Samsung Galaxy S1+
> Notebook + HDD (not on the photo)
So that's actually what I use for weddings and bigger shoots. When I go out shooting just for fun for
myself I use the Samsonite bag for the camera and 1-3 lenses and leave the rest at home.
Why I love my equipment and how I use it:
The D7000 is great. Good image quality, ok burst rate and just fine in terms of size, weight and
durability. Most of the time during the shooting I use the 17-50 f2.8 by Tamron at f5.6 or f8 for
maximum sharpness and also external flashes with umbrella using the yongnuo triggers.
For some crazy shots I love the Manual Focus Fisheye which is sharp when used not wide open.
During the ceremony I literally LOVE the 70-200 f2.8 as I don't need to be right in the scene when
I'm using this focal lenght (times Cropfactor).
Especially for the decoration and details like the rings I use the 50 1.4 which produces nice Bokeh
even at f2 or f2.8 and the Sigma macro lense which is just amazing in terms of sharpness.
Recently (not on the photo) I upgraded to my second camera, the D600. And I also bought the
Nikon 85/1.8 and Samyang 35 1.4 MF. Maybe there is a lense for the (Ultra) wideangle at the FX
Camera to come like the 16-35 by Nikon or maybe the 16-28 or 17-35 by Tokina.
