Great to get another insight into your personal story and how you got into photography. Interesting to hear you have a business background. I have a business degree myself and plan to enroll into a 5-year weekend photography course starting september ... who knows what it will lead to, you never know. Most of the time people find it difficult to handle changes in their life, but sometimes it can be exciting and something to look forward too :-) Other people story can inspire us, so thanks for sharing yours!
Very nice way of interducing yourself. Thank you. Well, I won't be able to do it this way, but here are some of my points in life.
Born and brought up in Austria, and now living in Switzerland. With the early age of ten, I always wanted a camera. My grandmother bought me a cheap film-camera, but sadly it never worked. When I started my apprentership as a electrician, I bought myself a Yashica. Used it mainly to try a get some nice shots of cars, and holidays. At the age of 23 I bought myself a Pentax SFX (which I still got). Had some fun with it over the years, but never had enought time to really get into it. My camera was often with me, but a point&shot would have been just a good for me. Ten years ago I've bought a Nikon Coolpix5000. I used this one more often, since the digital side of photography seams more appealing. 2008 I got into mountain- and racing biking, and the camera collected dust in my study. But I was always looking around for a nice DSLR. December 2011 I went and bought meself a D7000, and I fell in love again with taking such great pictures. I like landscapes but I'm not so keen on portaits. Maybe I'll get into it, as soon as I'm more confident with the equipment. Somehow I found your videos on youtube and I try to watch every single one. It's nice to get some thoughts, feedback and knowledge over this interesting subject. But for me it will stay a hobby, and I don't think I could earn a single cent on it. :D
Keep up your great work, and if I'm ever in my life down-under, I will try to visit one of your photo-walks.
All the best
