I'm afraid that this train has left the station...I do hope that Nikon will prove me wrong.

Great idea. I want also for any new ftz adspter to let me see my f/stop through the lens and in exiif data. My D300, D810, and F6 all do this when using non-cup lens data. I was really disappointed when I found out that my Z9 and ftz2 wouldn’t do it.

I haven't upgraded to Z from F because of the heavy discounting of the D series lenses. The combination of D810 or D850 camera plus D series lenses is a lot of bang for the buck and does the job. So yes I have a bunch of D lenses looking for a better autofocus body.

I'm looking for a new technology camera that does VERY well in low light situations. I have a D50 now and would like to use those lenses with the new camera

I have the Nikon AF 180MM 2.8 which was touted as a "legend" back in the day as you know. When I sold my DSLR's to go all mirrorless I was hugely dissapointed that The AF would not work on my Z9. I have been hanging on to the lens in the hope that Nikon would make a FTZ adaptor that would work (AF) with this lens. I think $350 would be the most I would pay however since that's the value of the lens today.

I am one of the Group 3 members who have a great DSLR and many D and F lens. I'll not purchase any Z camera, until I can use those lovely old lenses on it.

I am in "Group 3" too, disliking the idea to loose AF on most of my lenses should I switch to the Z system.
I will stay with my D850 for now, but I plan to move to mirrorless in the near future: if no FTZ with motor will be available at that point in time I might indeed decide to make my step just a little longer, selling my complete Nikon artillery and switch to Canon.

That woul be a great idea I still have a few prime S lenses it will have to be the same size an weight as the ftozll if any think maybe a touch smaller and around the price £300 as the tech is already there and with a little injunity this could be easily done. And just purchased the z9 and adaptor I will have no more bumps on my head caused by a d5 hitting my head repeatedly when my wife gets the compunction to do so as my best lens is the 85mm1.4 d lens which is left behind on my field trips in short get it done Nikon a few million are holding there breaths it is like buying a rolls Royce and running it on pararfin
