My Gear #36 - Yas Hamid

Here is what's in my bag

Body

D4 – This is my main workhorse: I shoot weddings, kids and anything involved low light and situations that I can't use bounce flash. Any outdoor event shoots with bright sunlight where I could recover highlights etc.

D800 – I use this as a backup to D4 and the 2nd body in my events. Usually, I'd have my D4 on 24-70mm and D800 on 70-200 mm. Or other way around depending on the situation. I try not to take too many shots with the d800 at events.

 I use this in my landscape shots when I get the chance to get out and do some fun shots.

Pre-wedding, pre-engagment shoots, portrait work. Also in my macro photography work. I also use this on real-estate and interior photography. Having the resolution allows me to do distortion correction in my wide-angle work.

D7000 – I use this as my travel shots, easy to carry around. Very decent quality picture. I'd hate to be on holidays with my heavy gear.

Lenses – all nikkor lenses

14-24 2.8 mm – mainly used in real-estate work and interior photography

24-70 2.8 mm – my all around lens at events, often use in landscape photography. I won't be able to do any gigs without this lens. I had lot of back focus issues with lens and got reseted to it's factory settings.

70-200 2.8 mm -  my main portrait lens – weddings, kids etc. I will not do portrait work without this main lens.

105 mm 2.8 mm micro – I use this for my macro work, and details shots at weddings etc. great portrait lens as well..specially with babies

85 mm 1.4 – I use this in special occasions where I'd like to be creative working with available light specially when the light is low in combination with D4

50 mm 1.8 – sort of use as my walk around lens when I travel. I don't like to carry my 2.8 lenses when I travel. So if I want to do some close up shots of anything..I use this lens specially when I need great quality

18-250 mm sigma – this is what I use with 50 mm prime and d7000 body as my travel kit.

Flash

SB700 – used with the lens 24-70 mm. I intend to use this as a kicker/fill flash in my strobist work in the future.

SB910 – is used with 70-200 mm. often used with D4 because of the fast recycling rate. This will be used as my main light in future strobist work.

At events I always got 2 bodies in action along with these flashes.

Spiderpro4 – I calibrate my screen with this.

Memory cards

Sandisk – CF, SD (Extereme pro, 16 GB) - I need the speed during events and specially when I backup the photos at the end of the night!

XQD – 16 GB – need for speed!

Light modifiers

Reflectors (silver/gold) - and diffusers  - mostly used in outdoor portraiture work

42' 2 in 1 umbrella kit – I don't get to use this one much during events, but mainly used in portrait work.

I think that's pretty much it!

I'd love to own another D4 any day! But I can't afford to keep up with the insurance costs!
