Here's my gear. Let me introduce myself first. I am Gerrit Anema, 28 years old, and I live in the Netherlands. It's a very small country in Europe, well known for the stereotypes as Amsterdam, weed, wooden shoes and other things. There are so much more things in my country than that, but let's focus on my gear :)
I got involved more seriously in photography when I bought my first dSLR in 2008, which was a Nikon D40. Excellent camera, helped me in being more creative than before, when I was just point-and-shooting with a dinky Kodak-Z-something. The D40 got replaced in 2010 by the D90, which I still have. It is my trusty workhorse. Not the most advanced and recent model anymore, but it still works great for me, also since budget isn't unlimited. Added a batterygrip from JJC, which makes my camera look more pro-ish ;)
I don't have the intention to become a pro, but I find myself being more than an amateur. I don't publish my photo's really much. I could and should do that more though. And I definitely should get my gear out more, but I've got two young children now, so currently there isn't much time left for my hobby after work and all other activities...
What's further in my bag to be found?
Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 OS - this is my most used lens, got it as soon as it came out. For it's price, to me, it's a brilliant and very sharp lens. It's a DX-lens, but since I'm not planning to go fullframe in the near future, this lens will stay in my bag for the next few years.
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 - yes, the cheap nifty-fifty. Since I bought the Sigma, I haven't been using it much, but it's still a nice lens, and it has brought me some great photos. I'd love to replace it with a f/1.4 though.
Tokina 12-24mm f/4 - My wide-angle. Love it, gives great colorfull images, and a good wide view.
Perhaps you already noticed, these lenses leave a gap between 24 and 50mm. I used to have the Nikon kitlens 18-105, but I sold that one to be able to buy the Sigma.
Nikon SB-600 - Budgetwise a great speedlight, in combination with the D90. I like to flash wirelessly, which is possible thanks to the CLS-system.
Yongnuo YN560-II - No need to explain much about, costs just a few bucks, works perfect!
Velbon Sherpa 200R tripod, use it a lot for long-exposure shots.
LumoPro lightstand, umbrella and beauty-dish for speedlight - for the strobist work I started with recently.
Additional gear: SD-cards, wireless remote from Nikon, wired remote from JJC, 77mm B+W 110 ND-filter. All this for the long exposures. And oh yeah, some Cokin filters I don't use really much anymore. They are cheap, and were nice to start with. But there's a clear difference in quality when putting it next to the B+W filter.
Last, to end with, my camerabag from Tamrac. High on my list of to-be-replaced. It is a decent camerabag, but way too small for all my gear.
I love your work, and all I can say is, keep up the good work!
Greetings from the other side of the world, Gerrit
