Here you go, at long last… my “In The Bag”… or more aptly, “In the Case”. In this case a pelican 1510. This is my location street photography setup…. I have about 10 different carrying/transport systems and will pack to suit the assignment.
Much of it is self explanatory.
Yellow tape: Nothing worse than putting your camera or a piece of gear down in a media room where you're surrounded by everyone else's gear and then not knowing what is yours. It's a trick I learnt from my days rock climbing. I also mark my bags and cases similarly, both for the same reason and to make them easier to find on conveyor belts.
Lens hoods: Don't actually know why I bother carrying them. Over several years of shooting both with and without, I never found any situation where they make a difference. Maybe that's just the places and style of my photography.
Pelican case: I'm a huge fan of Pelican cases… but also of "one bag for every job." They weigh a ton, but are bomb-proof. Find out more about why I love them here:

yes, this is a blog I began years ago….
oh, and I always pack a high vis vest too, so that you can hide in plain sight, so to speak, and avoid getting hassled by over-zealous security guards who think they can stop you shooting.
