My name is Branko and I am from a large island called Australia, currently living in Brisbane. I had started photography in the automotive scene and it has been a major part of my photography, however I have been known to be seen doing other areas of photography from portraits to landscapes. I have been photographing since 2008 when I purchased my first DSLR. I am a bit of a gear-aholic so sometimes I need to stop my thoughts at it's root. Gear list ahead.
Canon 60D - I have grown to love this camera. I use the 60D for all aspects of my photography. It is my main camera for obvious reasons such as speed, responsiveness, ruggedness etc.
Fujifilm X100 - I bought this for a run around camera which would be with me everywhere I go to document certain moments. I was quiet disappointed with it's performance. Slow, inaccurate, exposure comp dial moving at slightest touch. I do not use it at all anymore. On occasions I open up the box to glance at it's beauty. It's a stunner!
Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 - This lens is a very nice performer. Plenty sharp, F2.8 at a small price. It has been through a lot, being fully submerged in water doing landscapes (it surviving but the DSLR didn't), and still performs very well. I use it for landscapes and automotive photographs
Sigma 50mm F1.4 - I heard much praise about this lens being better than the Canon equivalent. I have had no regrets purchasing this lens. Performs nicely, plenty sharp. I notice some chromatic aberration at F1.4, sometimes very harsh but that's a minor detail. I use it for portraits
Canon 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 - Bigger is better, right? Well that's the reason why I got this lens. Very rugged, metal construction, optically superb throughout the zoom range. Some people hate the push-pull but I do like it a lot. I use it primarily for automotive photography when I am at the track so I can get up close.
Blackrapid RS-7 strap - A nice bit of kit. One of the best buys for me. Previously using straps provided with the camera, this is a big step up. Being outside for the whole day, this helps a lot in terms of weight distribution. This is used all the time.
Cokin Gradual ND filters - Performs well. I would love to have glass ones but for the price, I'm not complaining. Landscapes.
High visibility shirt - It helps if you don't want to be run over by a car
Slik SL-67 tripod - Gets the job done. Very rugged but old as well. Many parts are breaking. Used for landscapes.
Thinktank Glasstaxi - Very well built, great materials used and holds all my gear and more can fit.
