Hi, my name is Oh Yao Wen from Singapore. I am still a student, waiting for my GCE 'O' Levels result. I take up photography as my hobby. I start out when I am 11 years old. The first camera I used is a Kodak disposable film camera. The camera only had a limited amount of film, and once I finished them, I go to send it in for them to developed. Slowly, I upgrade in to a Kodak point and shoot and now a DSLR (SLT). When I finally got my DSLR (SLT), it is a Sony SLT A55 with a kit lens. Some of my friends has been commenting on why did I get a Sony rather than Nikon and Canon. I think that this is one question that most Sony user might hear. However, I did not think of changing my camera or jumping ships. I treasure the equipment that I have with me.
So here are my equipment:
1: Sony SLT A55
2: Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
3. Sony 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3
4. Sony 50mm f/2.8
5. Sony HVL F58AM
6. Sony NP-FW50 additional battery [Always Good To Have]
7. Joby Gorillapod
8. LowePro Nikon Bag [Yeah, Sony user with a Nikon Bag]
9. Sony Memory Stick Pro 8GB
10. Sony 16GB SDHC Card
11. SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC 1 32GB Card
Now let me share with you how I use my camera equipment.
I use my Sony SLT A55 almost everywhere I go. I bring along my 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 lens and my 50mm f/2.8. The reason why I chose to bring the 18-250mm lens is because, It is very good as it cover a long range of focal length. Hence I will be able to get the shot I need without having the need to change many lenses. The 50mm f/2.8 macro is used for taking macro shots and some shots that can be taken at 50mm. This lens has better optics than my 18-250mm lens. Hence when I need to have Bokeh effect or better optical quality, I will switch to the 50mm f/2.8 lens. I bring my HVL F58AM depends on where I am going. I recently brought a flash and now I am trying to learn about flash photography. I use flash mostly for portraits. For the Joby Gorillapod, I use it mostly for long exposure shot and sometime for my YouTube videos. My YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/androiddindang?feature=mhee If you guys are interested. I do also have a SteinZeiser MOD:SZ-02 Tripod. Yeah, it is a free and cheap tripod that comes with my SLT A55. However, it still get the job done when I do some long exposure shots. I used my LowePro Nikon Bag to store all my camera equipment as it is big enough. Yeah, so this is what I have in my bag and how I used them. Happy shooting guys!
