Mt. Everest (8848m) is located to the east of Kathmandu and is flanked by two other peaks over 8000m: Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,210 m). In addition to these three tall peaks, there are other relatively small peaks surrounding them: Pumori (7,561 m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 m), Mera peak (6,654 m), Cholaste (6,440 m), Lobuche (6,119 m), Island peak (6,173 m), and Kwangde (6,011 m).  The Everest region is also dotted with several beautiful and scenic villages (Namche, Lukla, Lobuche, Tengboche etc.).

Should weather prohibit the flight on October 24th, we’ll move to Plan B, based from Pokhara, our destination following the visit to Upper Mustang. We’ll have two windows for this scenic flight to Annapurna (8091m), on November 2, following our flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, and November 3, prior to our flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
