Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed for photographers who have a decent grounding in lighting and portraiture who want to advance their studio shooting techniques. The majority of the day will be spent shooting - we will have several models with unique looks and outfits involved, including street, formal and swimwear. 

Matt will demonstrate and introduce a series of lighting techniques, utilising single and multiple light set ups to create unique images. Several shooting stations will be set up allowing you to practice environmental portraiture and classic studio backdrop shooting.

As a small group, we are able to tailor parts of the day to suit the crows. Matt can demonstrate some basic beauty editing techniques that will improve the images you capture on the day, and/or discuss the business side of portraiture - how to find models, price your work, get published and sell prints. Matt will also be discussing value for money studio equipment set up options to create professional quality results at home or wherever you tend to shoot.

Participants are encouraged to bring images they want to replicate, one on one guidance will be provided.

We will be supplying equipment, models, background and all accessories needed. You only need to bring your camera, and a laptop if you want to follow along with the editing examples.

What you will get out of this workshop?

After attending this workshop you will be comfortable taking on advanced studio portraiture assignments and directing models. You will have created a series of fantastic images for your portfolio and networked with other likeminded photographers.
